Honored at Retirement Ceremony

On Wednesday, Kevin Hoskins ended his service with the Chillicothe Fire Department with a send-off that reflected his 40 years of dedicated service to the city.
Just hours before the retirement ceremony, Hoskins once again answered the call of
duty when he and fellow fire crews responded to a house fire just blocks from Calvary Church
where fellow firefighters, city officials, and family later gathered to recognize him.

At the ceremony,
Hoskins was recognized by fellow firefighters, state officials including Missouri State Fire Marshal Tim Bean,
and those he worked beside at Hedrick Medical Center, city hall, and in the Chillicothe Fire Station.
After an at times emotional ceremony, Hoskins thanked all of those who supported him throughout his career including his large family and co-workers.
Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Hoskins began his 40-year career on Sept 17, 1979,
and served as an EMT,paramedic, firefighter, lieutenant, and was appointed assistant fire chief on April 1, 1986. In advance of his March 27 retirement, Mayor Reed Dupy signed a proclamation making March 27, 2019,
Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Hoskins Day. Hoskins
ended the ceremony by telling those gathered they would still see him around,
"Well, unless I am out fishing."

- In advance of his March 27 retirement, Mayor Reed Dupy has signed a proclamation making March 27, 2019, Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Hoskins Day. Hoskins joined the department nearly 40 years ago on September 17, 1979, and since has served as an EMT, parademic, firefighter, lieutenant and was appointed assistant fire chief on April 1, 1986. There will be a reception honoring Hoskins dedicated service to the City of Chillicothe from 2-4 p.m., on March 27 at Calvary Church.
