COUNCIL MEETING 01/14/19
(4th Ward Councilperson Appointment, Main Street Event,
Conditional Use Permit)
The Chillicothe City Council voted unanimously to appoint Pam Jarding as 4th ward councilman. Following Mayor
Reed Dupy's appointment and the council's vote, Jarding, who previously served six years on the council, was sworn
in. She replaces Paul Howard who resigned at the beginning of the year due to health concerns. Jarding is the only
candidate for the 4th ward city council seat on the April 2 ballot. Before Jarding was appointed and sworn in,
Dupy and the council recognized Howard's dedicated service to the City of Chillicothe.
The council also heard from Tammi Venneman who was asking the council to issue a conditional use permit for the
purpose of an event hall at 923 Waples St. However, that matter was tabled under the direction of the city attorney
due to zoning concerns and other issues.
The council also unanimously approved a resolution for Main Street Chillicothe's
craft beer event to be held on Webster Street on March 8. Ben White, director of Main Street Chillicothe, said the event will feature breweries from across the state with
a tasting from 6-9 p.m. on March 8, 2019. The band, Flannigan's Right Hook,
will play near the tent on Webster Street and Silver Moon Plaza from 7:30-10:30
p.m. that evening. The 21 years of age and older event will also feature food from local vendors. White noted there is a $20 ticket price for the event.
